Chapter 1: "Saint Monk" Pianist and composer Thelonious Monk was the patron saint of Riverside Records, the influential Jazz record label Orrin Keepnews co-founded in the early 50s.

In the first installment of a twenty chapter video podcast series, Keepnews talks about meeting Monk, signing him, and producing his Riverside debut, "Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington."
