Dave Koz Excited About Two Decades With Capitol Records

Saxophonist Dave Koz says that this year he's celebrating two decades being signed as a solo artist with Capitol Records. His first CD for the label, Dave Koz, was released in early 1990. Last year, the popular instrumentalist released his dream project, the symphonic set At The Movies, which earned him two Grammy Award nominations.

Koz says that he's not quite sure what his next studio recording project will be, but he and Capitol executives will release a greatest hits set that will feature Koz's smooth jazz singles "Let It Free," "Honey-Dipped, "All I See Is You," "The Bright Side" and "Can't Let You Go," among others. He explained: "I got signed to Capitol records in 1988 so I've been signed for 20 years and believe it or not I've been on one label my whole career. And it's funny, we were just talking about putting together my very first best-of package. After all these years, I've never had a greatest hits package. We're talking about putting together a collection with some new material for the summer or early fall."

Earlier this month Koz released a special CD/DVD set of At The Movies with two additional songs and bonus footage. The collection, called Double Feature, features special guests Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis and Peter White.

No word on whether Koz's next studio release will be on Rendezvous Entertainment, the label he co-founded with partners Hyman Katz and Frank Cody.
