David Boswell Releases New CD - "I Like That"

Los Angeles session guitarist David Boswell released his third album, I Like That, January 12, 2009. With guest stars that include jazz innovator Jimmy Haslip (Credits: Yellowjackets and an extensive list of major industry leaders), smooth jazz saxophonist Nelson Rangell (Credits: Eric Marienthal, David Sanborn, Jaco Pastorius and more), rock drummer M.B. Gordy III (Frank Zappa, REO Speedwagon, The Doobie Brothers, Yoko Ono and more), and new age pianist John Boswell, I Like That is a fresh release that infuses high energy compositions with phenomenal musical chemistry.

The talent and experience of each musician is evident as each track unfolds. While Boswells guitar is the primary voice, each individual voice melds into an unpredictable musical stew. Its contemporary instrumental jazz as its meant to befree and wild.

Regarding the making of the CD and his approach to the creative process, Boswell said, I love music that makes, inspires and uplifts and that creates emotion in the listener. I have taken the most amazing journeys through the spirit of music without even stepping foot out of my house.

About the artist: Multi-instrumentalist David Boswells guitar calling came after he attended a Pat Metheny concert as a teenager. He would go on to attend the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles and play with various rock bands. Having studied under Pat Metheny, Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland, his diverse musical influences include a love of be-bop and the styles of John Coltrane, Keith Jarrett and Miles Davis.
