The project finds Meadows working once more with his longtime collaborator, keyboardist and producer Michael Broening.
Meadows has always sought to inject new flavors and immediacy into his work, something he feels the smooth jazz genre could use. He points to the pioneering work of several jazz and fusion artists who have led the way: "I think we need to even explore deeper sides of this music, which has always been the case with the contemporary jazz scene from way back in the early offerings from Herbie Hancock and George Duke and those guys. They were experimenting with the electrical side of jazz, which is basically the Fender Rhodes piano and the electric bass. So that was the beginning of a style of music that's pretty endless in its search for style, you know."
Meadows' previous CD was Dressed To Chill from 2006.
