Paul Hardcastle to Release New CD Called “The Collection”

Prolific song writer, musician, producer and performer Paul Hardcastle is set to release a new CD in May called “The Collection”. Hardcastle’s “The Collection” differs from the typical ‘greatest hits’ concept in that the compilation of songs were all selected based on how much Paul enjoyed making them. In other words, Hardcastle was asked to select instrumental songs that he enjoyed recording and not necessarily songs that were radio ‘hits.’

“The Collection” features 12 instrumental songs originally released on past CD “Hardcastle” (1 through 5) and “Jazzmasters” (1through 5). There is one vocal song “You May Be Gone” written as a dedication to Hardcastle’s mum, Joyce. There is also one new song called “The Circle”, which features Paul Hardcastle Jr. on sax. Hardcastle says he had a great time working with Jr. on the song and feels it won’t be too long before he has his own career, “making The Hardcastle Circle complete.”

“The Collection” includes favorites like “Northern Lights”, “Ventura Highway”, a remake of the Barry White classic “Love’s Theme” and Hardcastle’s personal favorite “Return of the Rainman” which was featured on his most recent CD “Hardcastle 5”. Paul said, “It’s interesting that my favorite instrumental track is from Hardcastle 5. I guess it’s taken me 10 albums to write my favorite instrumental track. It’s funny, I always thought your best music was at the start of your career? Oh well that works for me!”

Additionally, Hardcastle includes a short mix of music taken from his recent DVD “Journey To A Different State Of Mind” to wrap up the 14 song collection.

“The Collection” will be available for sale in the US in late May. The first single featuring Paul Jr. on sax will debut on the Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown radio show the first weekend of April.
