The first compilation of music taken from the network’s local forecasts, “The Weather Channel Presents Smooth Jazz,”
Some of the songs on the new “Smooth Jazz II” disc reference weather in the titles such as “Rainbow Seeker” by Joe Sample and “Cast Your Fate to the Wind” by David Benoit.
Benoit has commented, “I am honored to be part of The Weather Channel’s music CD. I have always enjoyed listening to the terrific music presented on the network and it is a thrill for me to be part of it.”
Another selection on the CD is “Pacific Coast Highway” by Jeff Lorber. In response to the inclusion of his song, Lorber says, “The Weather Channel is one of the favorite things we watch in our house. It’s always great to know what’s going on with the weather. I love the music that’s played on The Weather Channel and I’m honored to be part of their compilation.”
Other songs in the “Smooth Jazz II” compilation are: “Restless Heart” by Chris Geith, “Big Country;” by Eric Marienthal, “Brave New World” by Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons, “Friday’s Child” by Bradley Joseph, “Breakfast At Igor’s” by Spyro Gyra, “La Salsa En Mi” by Bernie Williams, “Wade in the Water” by the Ramsey Lewis Trio, “Now’s The Time” by the Charlie Parker Quartet, and “Lydian” by Norman Brown.
