Welcome to week 2 of our Colors Of A New Day campaign! It’s all about the color ORANGE today. Are you wearing yours?! We designed this promotion specifically to do something fun for the fans as we gear up for the release of my brand new album, A New Day, coming October 9th. All the musicians and special guests came together on this album (completely virtually, by the way) to provide a sense of hope, comfort and good feeling to all of those whose lives have been so transformed by this pandemic. I hope this week’s song does just that for you.
It’s called “The Closer We Get,” and I’m proud to say I wrote this song with the fantastic saxophonist/producer Darren Rahn, who has really become a big star in his own right. Darren and I wrote this tune to be the kind of song you put on and hopefully, it just takes you away…without a care in the world. It’s a romantic song for sure, but the inspiration is also firmly rooted in the quarantine, in that we’ve all had to find new ways to be close to the ones we love in this very surreal time. The pandemic has shown us you don’t really need to be WITH someone to feel close to them.
Yesterday, on SiriusXM Watercolors, mid-day host Talaya spun the song for the very first time on radio. And now, it’s YOUR turn...it’s available everywhere digitally today! Be sure to click on the orange video above to hear a story about “The Closer We Get" and then I'll play it for you live! I hope to see you get in on the action as we roll through the weeks ahead by posting a photo of yourself in the "color of the week" using the hashtag #ColorsOfANewDay. See below.
By the end of this campaign, we will have formed a RAINBOW of colors…a nice metaphor for where we are, in that I truly believe there is a rainbow waiting for all of us at the end of all this. We’re not there yet, and have a ways to go...but intuitively, it’s nice to feel that we’re in fact heading to A New Day.
Some exciting news to share too—we are planning a big Virtual Record Release Event for October 9th—and I want you to be there! Live musicians, special guests, some fun surprises and much more in store. You can get your ticket and find out all about it
HERE.
As a heads up, next week’s color is YELLOW but for now, have a very ORANGE day!
Happy Labor Day Weekend! Once again, thank you so much for your amazing support—it means the world to me!
With love and gratitude, always.
