WLVE/Miami air talent Billy Raven is the latest addition to the Sherman Oaks, Calif .-based Broadcast Architecture Smooth Jazz Networks lineup. A veteran smooth jazz personality who has pipes reminiscent of Barry White's basso, Raven will assume duties for the nationally distributed overnight show beginning in January 2007.
Raven joins BA's Smooth Jazz Network team, comprising Ramsey Lewis and co-host Karen Williams in the morning, Annie Ashe in evenings and Miranda Wilson in midday. BA president Allen Kepler says, "I have personally enjoyed Billy's 'Love After Dark' show in Miami since the early '90s. His sense of style and extremely memorable personality fit perfectly with our talented smooth jazz network team.
"Every minute of every broadcast day is critical to our overall product, and that's why we selected such a high-caliber talent to host our overnight show," Kepler adds. "In a world where people everywhere can stream your station any time, and they work and consume radio around the clock, we want the highest-caliber talent on the air 24/7."
Kepler expects to announce the networks' afternoon drive personality shortly. Stand by.
