Smooth jazz chart-topper Peter White has reportedly parted ways with his longtime label, Columbia, and signed with the Peak Records label. He will release his next CD early next year.
White says the new album will consist of all original material.
His most recent set, Playing Favorites, featured his versions of old favorites. The album featured the Number One smooth jazz single "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)."
White has been recording as solo artist for almost 30 years but feels he's just hitting his stride. Recently, he explained that, like the tune "Baby Steps" from his 2001 CD Glow, he's still making slow progress: "You know I've always described my career, for instance, as being baby steps. Because, you know, I mean I've been in the music business for 25 years now. I feel I'm only just now starting to peak in terms of recognition from the public. "
White continues to tour the U.S., and will appear September 7th at the Johnson Beach Resort in Guerneville, California. He will also launch his annual Peter White Christmas tour on November 28th at Incline Village, Nevada.
